Downloading Fonts (Windows)

Some sites I would throw out there are Font Garden, Da Font, Acid Fonts, and Better Fonts. I enjoy Font Garden the best because you can read quotes as you browse, but if you plug "fonts" into any search engine you'll come up with more results than necessary.

After you choose a few choice fonts, save them to a memorable folder. Chances are that the files will be zipped, so you may need to obtain WinZIP or WinRAR if you do not already possess them. Both of the software have never ending trial versions, I believe, and will be more than adequate for everyday use. In order to unzip the files, you can just right click on the downloaded files and find the "Unzip To Here" option.

Once you are left with font files, go to Start: Settings: Control Panel: Fonts. When that opens up go to File: Install New Font. Find your font, remembering that it may take a few seconds to show up once you get to the appropriate folder, and click OK.

You can also open up a separate window containing the folder with the downloaded fonts and proceed to drag the fonts files into the official font folder, but I figured I should include the "proper" way, as well. If you run into problems, I suggest you use the first method with future downloads.
